Haven't played VII but it's been a noticeable gap in my list of played games, of course I know a ton of it through osmosis. I liked the analysis, with a character name like Sephiroth the game was asking for that lens to be applied. The Yuffie hate was funny.

I recommend that you consider playing the original FF VII first (or at least a good part of it) and then playing the Remake.
