Summary: Today, we’ll continue our two- …erm… sorry, three-part analysis of Monkey Island’s place within pirate fiction’s narrative canon. This week, we’ll examine the deeper meanings under The Curse of Monkey Island’s cast of swashbuckling cliches (and I don’t mean that as a criticism). We’ll also connect these characters to broader character roles, types, and archetypes found throughout stories anywhere, any time.
